Easter Brunch & Egg Hunt at Hale Koa Hotel

  • Wounded Warrior Ohana PO Box 8071 Honolulu 96830 United States (map)

Wounded Warrior Ohana (WWO) welcomed nearly 200 wounded warriors and their families to an Easter gala on Saturday, April 8 that included a buffet brunch, egg hunt, live music, prizes, arts & crafts, exotic birds, magicians, games and even an appearance by the Easter bunny.

The event at Hale Koa Hotel’s Luau Garden was held for wounded warriors from all services who were treated to live music and a delicious buffet by Hale Koa Hotel catering.    The younger kids each received Easter treats, toys and goodies.  The families enjoyed a morning with arts & crafts, storytelling and magicians, courtesy of Iolani School’s Raiders for Wounded Warriors, the student chapter of WWO.

More than 60 families participated.  The 25 volunteers included board members of Wounded Warrior Ohana and Iolani School’s Raiders for Wounded Warriors.

WWO previously hosted its annual Easter brunch at Iolani School for warriors and family members but due to COVID-19, the non-profit had to cancel the event two years in a row. The Easter brunch held at Hale Koa Hotel last year was such a hit that the venue was selected again for this year’s event.  The organization hosts monthly events for the warriors and families, including whale-watching cruises, luaus, zoo days, University of Hawaii sporting events, catamaran sails and more.  WWO also provides monetary grants and services, and also provides scholarships for Gold Star Families as well children of wounded warriors.

Mahalo to our media friends for stopping by!
