Fourth of July Polo

  • Wounded Warrior Ohana PO Box 8071 Honolulu 96830 United States (map)

More than 70 wounded warriors and their families enjoyed a beautiful day on the Mokuleia Beach Polo Field. The weather was a bit blustery with intermittent showers, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of our guests or the polo players and their horses. Our attendees were treated to bento lunches, malasadas and snacks. One of the highlights was a “meet and greet” with a few of the horses. What a treat for those who love horses or who had never been able to pet one. All in all, it was a great day at the Hawaii Polo Club!

Mahalo to the Hawaii Polo Club for sponsoring our wounded warriors and mahalo to Leonard’s Bakery for the donation of 10 dozen malasadas!

Island Paradise Party Rentals did a great job setting up the tent, chairs and tables.

The kids (and adults) loved interacting with the patient horses.

Even some pooches came to see the matches!

The polo team is escorted onto the field.

The exciting action begins!!!!

WWO President, Dick Rankin, thanks the Hawaii Polo Club in between matches as HPC General Manager (and champion player) Devon Dailey looks on.

In between matches, spectators had fun stomping divots on the field.

The Tailele Family enjoyed the matches.

WWO board of directors and spouses.

Delicious and filling bento lunches.

Many of our attendees enjoyed not one, but two or more malasadas!

One of our guests refused to let go of his malasada!!!
