Whale Watching Brunch Cruise

  • Wounded Warrior Ohana PO Box 8071 Honolulu 96830 United States (map)

Wounded Warrior Ohana hosted more than 200 wounded warriors and families on a Whale Watching Cruise aboard Atlantis Adventures’ beautiful ship, The Majestic. The morning started with a hearty buffet brunch, accompanied by music by the bc band. Lots of door prizes were given out including dinner gift cards, Cookie Corner tins and beautifully-crocheted afghans created by Marge Awana. But the biggest highlight was seeing a mama whale and her calf breaching right in front of the ship. It was such a thrill for everyone and a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Mahalo to the captain, staff and crew of the Majestic for the wonderful hospitality! And mahalo to The Cookie Corner for providing cookies to all attendees and door prizes to lucky winners!

From a few of our wounded warrior attendees:

“We saw the whale breach the surface and luckily got a picture from a guy who had his phone out. Karen got a photo of the second one; the mom and baby breached back to back. It was incredible. A huge thank you to WWO for making this happen. They sang for Karen’s birthday too. A great morning full of forever memories.”

— D Teutsch

“My wife, family and I would like to say thank you and show our appreciation for the whale watching cruise. We had a fantastic time and met some new people along the journey…thank you so much for such an opportunity. We truly appreciate it and all you do to support events like these!”

Why do whales breach?

As we reentered Honolulu Harbor, we bid aloha after a wonderful day on the water.

An incredible video of a whale breaching was captured by wounded warrior family member, Hailey Spires. Great job on the video!

And mahalo to the humpback whales for the exhilarating show. A hui hou!
