The National Pest Management Association's PestVets Council brought together participants at PestWorld 2023 to build the community provided by Wounded Warrior Ohana and support wounded and disabled Veterans in Hawaii.
Thanks to support from attendees of PestWorld and FMC, PestVets have generated over $20,000 in funding to support Wounded Warrior Ohana's microgrants program. The microgrants help Wounded Warrior Ohana's family through hard times and move their lives forward.
Wounded Warrior Ohana joined PestVets on Friday, October 20, at TEX808 BBQ for lunch to introduce them to their ohana (family) and learn more about the impact of their work. PestVets presented a check to WWO at the luncheon.
"Wounded Warrior Ohana has been incredible to work with and I'm very excited to meet their members and learn more about how we can support Veterans in Hawaii," PestVets Council Chair Trent Kucherka said.
"Attending PestWorld is always exciting and I really appreciate being able to support veterans in the community that hosts our annual conference," Kucherka said. "It's important to all of us to give back and support those who directly and indirectly make PestWorld such a great experience."
PestVets encourages everyone to learn more about how Wounded Warrior Ohana and how they create family for Veterans in Hawaii, help them manage injuries and PTSD sustained while serving their country and help them put themselves in a position to pay it forward and make their community a better place to live.
“We cannot thank PestVets enough for their tremendous support of Wounded Warrior Ohana,” Dick Rankin, president, Wounded Warrior Ohana said. “These funds will go a long way to help the healing of our wounded warriors and their families.”
